Made In Plymouth Website Design

We created the website for Made In Plymouth using a dyslexic-friendly colour scheme and typefaces to improve the site’s readability and accessibility.

¬†When designing for dyslexic accessibility, it is important to use fonts without serifs, avoid very dark text against very light backgrounds (especially on screens), and to make sure that lines of texts aren’t spaced in a justified style.

Of course, when we picked a background colour, we couldn’t stray far from plymouth green!

¬†Creating a searchable directory of stories, articles and contributors was an essential part of the website’s functionality.

We created a clear, image-based approach with graceful fade outs which matched the site’s background colour. Some accessible typefaces helped set the clear approach to differentiating between articles and stories.
