Paul Acraman Artist Website

Paul Acraman needed a new website after his previous local website hosted retired. It was in need of a bit of an update having been designed several years ago, and Paul wanted the site to connect to his new Etsy shop where he sells his artwork. Paul was also keen to keep a blue colour palette consistent through the site (echoing his love of the sea) and to prominently showcase his seascape artworks.

First up was a custom designed page header for his homepage. Paul wanted a gallery-like feel and asked for a custom image to show his paintings on a gallery wall with his site title between the artworks. A bit of photoshop later and voila!
One key element of this site design was in connecting seamlessly to his Etsy shop, and enabling Paul to add new artworks to his website as he creates them. I created two gallery sections to Paul’s site for both his seascape paintings and his landscape artworks. Keeping a gallery-like feel, visitors can easily navigate through Paul’s paintings and click through to his Etsy store.

Design-wise I kept to a sunny, seascape theme. It was important to showcase Paul’s excellent artwork throughout the site, as well as important information about his tuition classes, studio and blog. I also worked on his search engine optimisation to help him feature more prominently in local artwork searches.
